- Final specifications defined according to cell architecture, operating conditions and project requirements.
Performance & functional advantages
Hyverra’s GDEs are designed to provide excellent performance and durability by combining controlled reactant transport, electronic conductivity and catalytic activity within the electrode structure. Through application-specific microstructure design, material selection and catalyst formulation, the electrode can contribute significantly to overall electrochemical system performance.
- Improves battery and system efficiency by promoting effective electrochemical reaction at the electrode interface.
- Supports extended service life through application-specific electrode design and material selection.
- Contributes to higher energy density through optimized electrode structure and reaction efficiency.
- Helps reduce system cost through appropriate material, catalyst and electrode-configuration choices.
- Optimized microstructure and catalyst formulation support higher reaction efficiency and longer service life.
Technical details
GDE performance depends on the coordinated interaction between pore structure, reactant transport, electrical conductivity and catalytic activity. The porous carbon-based substrate provides pathways for gaseous and liquid reactants while maintaining electronic conduction, and the catalyst layer accelerates the target electrochemical reaction. These parameters must therefore be considered together rather than as isolated specifications.
- Porous structure is selected to support effective reactant distribution and mass transport.
- Electronic conductivity and electrode contact are considered in relation to the target cell architecture.
- Catalyst formulation and loading are matched to the required electrochemical reaction and performance objectives.
- Microstructure design is optimized in relation to reaction kinetics, transport requirements and operating conditions.
- Final electrode design balances performance, durability, integration requirements and cost considerations.
